Inglis Foundation, a non-profit that assists people with physical
disabilities, honored the Center for Independent Living in Bucks
County (CILBC), Langhorne, with a $20,000 grant. Pictured (from

Inglis Foundation works with people with physical disabilities
to create and provide practical solutions so they may pursue their
life goals. All of Inglis’ services and programs are designed
to enable people with physical disabilities to enjoy life with

Recognizes Bucks County Volunteer Lou Catalanotti, Sr., Chairman & CEO,

honored for years of volunteer service to Bucks County…
Catalanotti Recognized Out of 320 Nation-wide Nominations…
Bucks County, Pennsylvania—The Bucks County Council
for Individuals with Disabilities (BCCID) announced today that their long-standing
Treasurer of the BCCID Board of Directors has been nationally recognized
by REALTOR Magazine and the National Association of Realtors for volunteer
service to Bucks County.
Lou
Catalanotti, Sr., Chairman & CEO, Hale-Smith Real Estate & Insurance,
was recognized by REALTOR Magazine and the National Association of
Realtors for outstanding volunteer service to the Bucks County Council
for Individuals with Disabilities (BCCID). Mr. Catalanotti also serves
on the BCCID Board of Directors and serves as Board Treasurer. Mr.
Catalanotti has personally raised thousands of dollars in donations
each year and hosts an annual golf outing for the benefit of the
Bucks County Council for Individuals with Disabilities. As a volunteer,
Mr. Catalanotti is also equally generous with his time.
REALTOR
Magazine and the National Association of Realtors received 320 nominations
this year for volunteer recognition from across the United States. Mr.
Catalanotti was presented with his Certificate of Recognition from REALTOR
Magazine and the National Association of Realtors by BCCID Executive Director
Scott Mitchell at a public meeting of the BCCID Board of Directors.
BCCID
Executive Director Scott Mitchell, who nominated Catalanotti for
recognition, stated that, “Lou is a terrific guy and very generous.” Mitchell
added that, “The BCCID would probably not exist today without the
commitment and dedication of Lou Catalanotti, Sr., his family, and
his employees.”
BCCID
Board President Dave Rogers echoed Mitchell’s comments, saying that, “Our
organization counts on Lou so much that he, his family, and his employees
have long ago become part of the BCCID family.” Rogers added
that, “Lou helps more people quietly than we will ever know about—that’s
his style.”
The Bucks
County Council for Individuals with Disabilities is chartered to promote the
independence and well-being of individuals with disabilities. For twenty
years BCCID has been making a significant difference in the lives of many people
throughout Bucks County. BCCID is a volunteer organization and operates
financially based upon donations from fundraising and grant writing. BCCID
is a non-profit organization and donations are tax-deductible.
BCCID
has helped to establish a Disabled Persons Advisory Board in five
Bucks County municipalities, a Center for Independent Living (CIL) serving
all of Bucks County, and has recently announced the availability and details
of a new scholarship program in conjunction with Bucks County Community
College.

BCCID Offers $2500 in Scholarships
The Bucks County Council for Individuals with Disabilities
is offering five $500 scholarships this year. Based in Middletown,
BCCID advocates for and helps people with disabilities improve
their quality of life and secure and enjoy equal access while
educating the community. Among its many goals, the council
aims to provide grants to teachers, students, and organizations
that support people with disabilities. For more information
about BCCID, visit www.bccid.org. Four scholarships of $500
each will be awarded to students with disabilities at BCCC.
In addition, BCCID sponsors the Mirca Liberti Scholarship,
a $500 award given to a student majoring in a field of study
that works closely with people with disabilities. Applications
will be accepted until July 31.

Bucks County, Pennsylvania—The Bucks County
Council for Individuals with Disabilities (BCCID) announced today
that it will hold its Eighth Annual Awards and Recognition Dinner
on Thursday, October 26th at 7:00 PM at the Sheraton Bucks County
Hotel.

3 News award-winning anchor Pat Ciarrocchi is the keynote speaker
for the evening. Pat has demonstrated her commitment to the
community by the time she has dedicated serving on the boards of
the Easter Seal Society and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Pennsylvania
State Representative Matt Wright (R, 142nd) is among the honorees. Representative
Wright is a supporter of the Bucks County Council for Individuals
with Disabilities, has been a consistent advocate of issues affecting
those with disabilities, played an active role in the creation
of the Bucks County Center for Independent Living (CIL), and recently
secured a $20,000 state grant for BCCID.
